Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean.
Some family friends of ours own a company that serves as a vendor for automotive parts, based overseas. My adventure with Carprofi began as a school project - I was tasked with designing a mobile app for a company, and with Carprofi being so close to home - figuratively, certainly not literally - I designed one, with only their website as a reference of what I should include. Little did I know, the app would only be the beginning...
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

For the mobile app design, I essentially kept the materials and theme of the original website, but as with everything else, I wanted to give it a contemporary feel.

Using my knowledge of the UX/UI process, I created an app meant to fulfill the e-commerce purpose of the business, which was to sell auto parts. Currently, the app is a digital prototype in Figma, which is clickable and usable.

SYNTOIL

The owners of Carprofi tasked me with a special project they had in mind: a custom brand of motor oil, which would be called Syntoil. My job was to create the brand image, along with the labels for each of the variations of motor oil that would be sold under the brand.
I've had some experience with product design before, but this was a significant step forward for my capabilities in design. In a similar process with many of my projects, I began with a logo design to establish a good image for the brand, and followed up with three separate label designs.
Before I even began the ideation process, I looked into other motor oil products available on the market, to see what they did right and wrong. Some brands used outdated designs, and others were too cluttered, with a disorganized hierarchy, and too many pop-out elements.
I wanted to keep my design clean and simplistic, utilizing positive and negative space, rather than replying on too many colors for that pop. I wanted to create something that would demand respect, something customers would see on the shelf and think, this is a quality product I trust.
